Hello beautiful human,
Each morning is a meditation. Each morning I open myself up to the view and the screen and wait to find out what happens. I trust this Space to hold me in the unknowing until a knowing comes. A word, a phrase, a certain texture that hooks into the imagination.
Today maybe it was the quality of air as I walked around my couple of neighborhood blocks. Soft with the recent rains, and sweet, so sweet, with the scents of tulips, blooming crabapple and lilac, all the spring blooms. There’s a trend in horticulture to breed flowers and trees for appearance, and we’re breeding the scent right out of them. When I smell a sun warmed tulip or a fragrant old-fashioned lilac it transports me. I’ll take a little weediness, a slightly smaller blossom, in trade any day.
But then, it’s true: I like things pungent, wild, a little tangled around the edges.
I’m not a tidy person.
