Hello beautiful human,
This morning the crickets are singing away with their tiny legs, reminding me the season of shift again is upon us. Kids are going back to school. Days are growing perceptibly shorter and the air is drying out a little. My tomatoes are harvested and slurped up seeds and all.
Vacations are good in the going away and the coming back. I was glad to see this small Wisconsin town once again as we rolled in on Saturday afternoon. I came home filled with words and energies, ideas and visions. None of them ready to share or manifest all of them swirling about. Seeds stars and waterfalls somewhere there in the way back dim of the mind. Those great deep forests where we do not tread, we only broach the border and listen for the wild cries and calls, echoing in the shadows.
So I did what I almost always do when I am brewing and stirring the soup pots of the imagination — I moved furniture. I sorted papers. I cleared space and rearranged things.
That leads to our Mission this week:
Small movement
What happens when you move one small item on a table? When you clear a single shelf? What does it feel like when you move a chair or rearrange a counter? Explore small movements in your home this week and notice the shifts possible. Maybe it’s a good time to bring in some gift from the larger world…a trip to the farmers market for flowers, a found gift from the riverbank, or a stick you picked up in your own backyard.
Mission: Possible. But if you want the theme music from that other kind of mission to inspire you, here you go.
Don’t be afraid to go beyond the original Mission Possible. Follow your inclinations and inspirations and see what arises… Let the week take you playfully where it will, if you will.
Today’s invitation: If you don’t love my Mission Possible above, if you don’t feel inspired by it, there’s always the option to invent another one for yourself. Find some small step or act here at the start of the week that can take you just slightly outside of your usual rounds and routines. Follow your nose out into the day and through the hours and keep awake for the assignment. It might surpise you.
Looking to grow the connection and the energy? Here are some possibilities:
Your attention and time are the true gifts. Thank you. xoS
I love that photo, Sarah! It's such a great invitation.
